Format conversion/Mesh ↔ mesh

glTF to PLY converter (local)

Convert a glTF 2.0 JSON scene, including external .bin buffers, to PLY locally. The Worker reads embedded base64 buffers or paired .bin files, applies node transforms, merges triangle primitives, and writes the PLY download without uploading the model.

Drop a glTF here

Drop a .gltf with embedded base64 buffers, or select the .gltf and its .bin files together. Node transforms and triangle primitives are read in the Worker.

How it works

  1. 1

Drop a .gltf with embedded buffers, or select the .gltf and its .bin files together.

  2. 2

The Worker reads the embedded buffers or paired .bin files and walks the glTF scene graph.

  3. 3

Node transforms are applied and triangle primitives are merged into one indexed mesh.

  4. 4

Download the generated file locally. No upload is performed.

What the numbers mean

Units

glTF conventionally uses metres, but the converter preserves the source coordinates without rescaling. Confirm the unit in the target viewer or slicer.

Attributes

Node transforms are applied. Only triangle positions and indices are used; materials, textures, colors, skins, morph targets, and Draco compression are not carried over.

Printing notes

  • For an external-buffer .gltf, select the .gltf and all of its .bin files together in the picker or drop zone.
  • All node instances and meshes are merged into one output mesh.
  • glTF commonly uses metres; check the unit scale before printing.
