Prusa MK3S+ build volume and fit check
The MK3S+ has a nominal 250 × 210 × 210 mm build volume. It shares the MK4's footprint but not its height: the MK3S+ stops at 210 mm in Z. Long parts can use the 250 mm X axis, while the 210 mm Y depth is usually the first limit to check.

Model-specific limits
- The Z height is 210 mm, not the MK4's 220 mm. A 215 mm part will fit an MK4 profile and fail on an MK3S+.
- The plate is 250 × 210 mm. A part that fits along X may still need a quarter turn to fit the Y depth.
- The open frame loses heat quickly, so ABS and ASA need an enclosure and controlled cooling. Geometry alone is not enough.
What fits
The MK3S+ remains a reliable PLA and PETG machine for brackets, spacers and replacement parts within 250 × 210 mm.
Use this page to confirm a new model still fits a proven profile before copying slicer settings from an older project.
Check the 210 mm Z limit early. If the model is just over, rotating it is usually not enough; split it at a natural seam instead.
Orientation tips
- Include the brim width in the XY clearance when the footprint is close to 250 × 210 mm.
- A 90-degree rotation can turn a 230 mm Y overhang into a 230 mm X span that fits.
- For a tall part, confirm both the model height and the slicer's Z limit; the nominal bed height is an upper bound.
