Wall thickness/FDM
0.6 mm nozzle minimum wall thickness check
A 0.6 mm nozzle lays lines around 0.6–0.65 mm wide, so 1.2 mm is about two lines, 1.8 mm is three and 2.4 mm is four. This profile uses 1.2 / 1.8 / 2.4 mm as lower / recommended / structural screening targets.

Lower the threshold to inspect a stricter target, or raise it to screen only very thin walls. The profile verdict stays anchored to its published range.
Wall thickness reads model coordinates as millimetres. Scale glTF/GLB models exported in metres before checking.

- Assumptions
- 0.6 mm nozzle, approximately 0.6–0.65 mm extrusion width, 0.3 mm layers
- 2 / 3 / 4 perimeters for the lower / recommended / structural targets
- Rigid FDM material; the slicer's gap fill can change the effective wall

Profile-specific limits
- The larger nozzle cannot resolve every fine feature. A wall may be thick enough in the slicer but still lose small text or sharp edges.
- The structural target assumes a rigid material and a part with enough layer contact. Large flat walls remain sensitive to warp and cooling.
- The checker reads the mesh thickness, not the slicer's variable line width or gap fill. Inspect the preview for gaps between perimeters.
Where this profile fits
A 0.6 mm nozzle trades detail for speed. Use the 1.8 mm target for handled prototypes and reserve thinner walls for visual surfaces.
Thicker extrusion lines improve print time, but the structural target still needs a sensible load path. Add ribs rather than relying on one thick wall.
For a watertight container, use the recommended range and check the slicer for gaps at corners and layer transitions.
Wall-thickness tips
- Use 1.2 mm walls for two-line shells, 1.8 mm for three lines and 2.4 mm for four-line structural shells.
- Increase the threshold when the slicer's actual line width is above 0.6 mm; the nominal profile is only a starting point.
- Check small text and snap features separately; the nozzle may not reproduce them even when the main wall passes.
